60 Minutes Looks At German Prisons and how they Treat Their Prisoners So well to Reintegrate them into Society

This look into prisons in Germany, and comparative to the United States, prison reform is safer, and less expensive.  Prisoners focus on reintegration into society as healthy rehabilitated human beings.  Not treated terribly, or forced to live in solitary confinement for the rest of their lives.  There are some cases that prisoners are never going to leave, but their dorm and cells have keys, and more privileged, instead of being treated like a kenneled dog treated with aggression and poor treatment.

This is the type of thing coming from a country like Germany, after WWII, and the types of stigmas that would only surround a country like Germany. However the smart approach with top penal physiologists offers a different look at making criminals, less of the criminals they are by teaching them that there is another way to behave, and react to situations, and how to do their time without the triggers and fears that come with a life sentence, or that they are not able to be rehabilitated in some fashion.

For a program like 60 minutes to cover these types of issues with prisoners means that it is getting hopeful for inmates to finally see treatment that isn't so inhumane that it makes a prison sentence something of nightmares.  Solitary confinement is used so easily and is what causes more inmates to be less likely to succeed in General Population because they are no longer able to  reintegrate back and will start to react differently and have a higher chance of looking for a reason to stay in Solitary Confinement due to an inmate not wanting a cell mate or that they are a target and possibly seeking safety during their stay.  All together it is a great piece and worthy of putting on the site for others to see that missed it.  Enjoy!
